The most scenic campground on the Bold Coast — oceanfront RV sites and renovated cottages overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, with views of Canada across the water. Watch whales from your campsite. Spot the Old Sow whirlpool at low tide. The resort has been updated in recent years with a heated pool, bar, pickleball courts, activities area, and electric bike rentals for day trips into Eastport. Both full hookup RV sites and stand-alone cottages available. Bookings fill fast — especially waterfront sites, which can book up a year in advance.

The easternmost campground in the United States, sitting on a bluff overlooking Johnson Bay in Lubec. The most adventure-oriented campground on the Bold Coast, set back in the woods off Route 1 in Columbia Falls. Full hookup pull-through RV sites, back-in sites, tent sites, cabin rentals, a treehouse, and even a camper rental for those without their own rig. What sets Cottonwood apart is its direct connection to the Down East Sunrise Trail — one of the longest rail trails in New England — giving ATV riders hundreds of miles of trail access right from their campsite. Dirt bikes welcome. Known for a spotlessly clean bathhouse and a welcoming, community atmosphere.

Cobscook Bay State Park
One of the most dramatic campgrounds in Maine — 888 acres of spruce and fir forest on the shores of Cobscook Bay, where the tides rise and fall up to 28 feet twice a day. Historically one of the best-regarded state park campgrounds in New England, with 106 sites, shoreline access, and exceptional birding. The park has been temporarily closed for infrastructure improvements — check the Maine state parks website for current status before making plans around it.
